Our Story
Our Filipino streetwear brand has a rich history that began in 2005 when we realized that the Filipino shirt scene was becoming redundant. Inspired by the Tokyo pop scene, we came up with our iconic Bungong-Araw logo while sketching in class during trade school. In 2008, we officially launched ASH Brand Clothing and Lifestyle, a brand that centered on Filipino artists and Philippine culture. Our shirt designs are inspired by the Kawaii style of pop art but with a twist of Filipino pop culture, including food, politics, and history. We started small, printing shirts from our kitchen in Hercules CA, and selling them out of the trunk of our car in front of SeaFood City. In pursuit of producing high-quality products, we later moved to the Philippines to work with local artists and expand our brand's reach. However, we faced financial challenges in 2012, which forced us to go on hiatus. But, in 2014, we launched TeamPogi, a graphic-designed brand that celebrated gentlemanly traits and values, such as working out, literature, and humor. Amid the pandemic in 2021, while designing a character for our graphic novel, we wanted the character to wear a popular sneaker. To avoid lawsuits, we changed the swoosh logo to the baybayin 'KA.' This change inspired us to relaunch our brand, and we started producing belt buckles, socks, caps, more sneakers, and even our original silhouette. We remain committed to celebrating Filipino culture and creativity through our brand.

Our brand, A.S.H., is an acronym for Alagad ng Sining Habambuhay, which translates to Art Disciple Forever. We are a brand dedicated to celebrating and promoting the creativity of Filipino artists. Our style is inspired by Tokyo pop art and Ametora, a term that describes how the Japanese have taken American fashion and adapted it to their unique culture. Our goal is to do the same thing for Filipino fashion, taking inspiration from the west but making it definitively Filipino. We want to create clothing that reflects our heritage and culture while embracing modern fashion trends. Our designs are bold, colorful, and playful, reflecting the fun-loving nature of Filipino culture. We are committed to supporting and uplifting the Filipino artist community, and our brand is a reflection of that dedication.
